Zoom Lecture: Frederick Law Olmsted and the Creation of Central Park
Art historian and educator, Emily Folpe, returned to give CHV members a fascinating lecture about Frederick Law Olmsted who, working with Calvert Vaux, designed Central Park in response to a competition held in New York City in 1857. Vaux was responsible for the architectural features, while Olmsted transformed more than 800 acres of New York’s original terrain into the landscape we know today.
If you missed the Zoom presentation or would like to see it again, we have recorded Emily's lecture which you will find on the CHV website in the "Event Video Archive". You may reach the archive by clicking on the title "Event Videos" listed along the top of any screen on our website.
