Tour at The Center for Italian Modern Art

A private tour of the exhibit, From Depero to Rotella: Italian Commercial Posters Between Advertising and Art, at the Center for Italian Modern Art.

Please join us Wednesday, March 29 from 11 am-12 pm for a private tour of the exhibit, From Depero to Rotella: Italian Commercial Posters Between Advertising and Art, at the Center for Italian Modern Art, led by a research fellow at the Center.

The posters on view were created between 1926 and 1957, for many of the major Italian companies whose beautifully designed and produced products we continue to admire: Fiat, Campari, Olivetti and Barilla and Pirelli. This show demonstrates how “from futurism onward, Italian posters acquired a visual and commercial force that elevated the medium to a form of artistic expression.”

Upon arrival at the gallery, and in the tradition of Italian hospitality, we will be greeted with a cup of freshly made espresso. The tour will be limited to 15 people and the cost is $15, per person. If you would like to register please click the green register button below.

The Center for Italian Modern Art is located at 421 Broome Street, in SOHO. After our visit, you may wish to join the group for a casual lunch at a nearby restaurant.

Closer to the date, additional information, regarding transportation, payment and restaurant information will be forwarded to all attendees.
