Zoom Session with FBI Agent Steven Shapiro on Fraud and Cybersecurity

FBI Special Agent Shapiro will provide updated information on frauds and scams targeting seniors and how to protect against them in a Zoom presentation.

A year ago, FBI Supervisory Special Agent Steven Shapiro spoke to us about trends in fraud and cybercrime; how it’s conducted, and the motivations behind it.  Unfortunately, this continues to be a growing problem. We are all aware that there has been an upsurge in fraud and scams aimed at seniors in recent years.  Some of our own members have reported having experienced “check washing”, fraudulent bank transfers, or cyber/phone scams.  It is a subject we all need to be aware of and alert for.

On September 20 Special Agent Shapiro will provide updated information on these trends and how to protect against them in a Zoom presentation. Please join us for this important Zoom presentation on September 20, 2023, at 4pm.

As Supervisor over the Financial Crime Squad in the FBI’s New York Field Office, Agent Shapiro leads a team of special agents, intel professionals, and forensic accountants working a variety of white-collar crime cases including elder fraud, investment fraud, and money laundering.

If you are interested in joining us, please register by clicking on the green REGISTER button below (you’ll be asked to log into our site with your password).  The Zoom link will be sent to registered members the day before the presentation.
