Hearing Loss, Assessment, and Hearing Aids
A Lecture Presentation by
Dr. Melissa Hurtado, Au.D., CCC-A,
Senior Audiologist, Department of Otolaryngology
at Mt. Sinai Hospital
Dr. Melissa Hurtado will present a Zoom talk on the practical issues surrounding hearing aids: assessment of hearing levels, evaluation of results, the options for addressing any hearing loss, the proper fitting and technology involved in various hearing aid models, pricing and related costs to maintain the hearing aid, and the various benefits associated with the location you select for the hearing assessment (i.e., a hospital setting like Mt. Sinai, a private audiologist, commercial setting such as Costco).
Dr. Hurtado will make a 35 - 40 minute presentation followed by a 10 -15 minute question and answer session.
Dr. Melissa Hurtado is a clinical audiologist at the Hearing and Balance Center. She received her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree from the Long Island Consortium in 2017. She completed her residency at New York City Hearing Associates, PLLC where she continued to work for three years before joining the Mount Sinai Faculty Practice Associates in 2020.
