Search and Care Presentation

Presentation by Search & Care on Their Resources for Seniors in Need of Caregiving or Support

Search and Care is a neighborhood organization, founded in 1972, whose emphasis is to act as an advocate for vulnerable older neighbors, providing comprehensive care management, ranging from securing benefits and entitlements to social and enrichment groups, and acting as a safety net for residents primarily in Manhattan’s Yorkville, Carnegie Hill, and East Harlem communities. They strive to ensure that their clients can age at home for as long as is safely feasible with quality of life and peace of mind. As such, their mission is very much the same as Carnegie Hill Village and, in fact, we have partnered with Search and Care on several events.

Search and Care is able to provide comprehensive care management to their clients due to a multidisciplinary staff of professionals trained to assess needs and make recommendations or referrals for individualized care when necessary. Their services are fee free and supported by individual donors and foundation funders. Because CHV’s scope of programming focuses on social connections, cultural outings and specific interest groups, Search and Care has offered help in assessing needs and making recommendations or referrals for in-home assistance to CHV members who might be alone with a sudden need for help.

Please join us for a Zoom presentation on April 17 at 4 PM by Search and Care’s Executive Director, Aaron Rooney, and Robin Strashun, Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator, on Search and Care’s services available to CHV members in need of caregiving or support. If you are interested in attending, please click on the green REGISTER button below. The Zoom link for the presentation will be sent out the day before the presentation and will be available on the Event Page of our website.
