October 8 Central Park Tour
Join us for a Central Park tour, featuring the work of Jacob Wrey Mould. Most people know that Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux designed the park. But how many have heard of Jacob Wrey Mould or know about his contributions to the park? Mould was a British trained architect. His designs for the Park were influenced by John Ruskin, by the 19th century fascination with nature, and by his apprenticeship with Owen Jones, whom he assisted in publishing studies on non-European decorative arts.

Join Rachel Strauber, a member of the Docent Committee of the Central Park Conservancy's Women's Committee, to learn a bit about Mould and for a closer look at the decorations he designed for the Terrace, the Arcade, the Mall, the fountain at Cherry Hill and Bow Bridge The tour will take place on Tuesday, October 8th, from 10:30AM to noon. Meet on the drive at 72nd Street overlooking Bethesda Terrace. The group is limited to 12, and there is no charge. If you would like to join us, please press the green button below to register.
