Tour of "Anish Kapoor: Early Works" at the Jewish Museum

Please join us for a tour of "Anish Kapoor: Early Works" at the Jewish Museum on Thursday, November 13th.

Please join Sarah Coffin O’Connor on a docent-led tour of the just-opened "Anish Kapoor: Early Works" exhibition at the Jewish Museum.  Known for his installation and conceptual art, British sculptor Anish Mikhail Kapoor was born in Mumbai, to an Indian Punjabi Hindu father and a mother of Iraqi Jewish origin. His many awards and public commissions, and collaborations with Salman Rushdie and others, have brought him much fame.  But this exhibition showcases Kapoor’s rarely seen pigment sculptures from the 1970's and 1980's. It is the first U.S. museum presentation dedicated to the artist’s early work.

The tour will start at 11AM on Thursday, November 13th.  There is a registration fee of $15, and 20 spaces will be available.  We will meet at the museum by 10:50 so we can enter when the museum opens at 11 AM. Instructions about our exact meeting place will be emailed to participants the day before.

After the tour is over, the museum invites the group to tour the newly installed Identity, Culture, and Community: Stories from the Collection of The Jewish Museum and Pruzan Family Center for Learning.  We will visit independently or as smaller groups, at no extra charge.
