Writing Your Own Ending, a Book Written by CHV Member Douglas Renfield-Miller

CHV member Douglas Renfield-Miller will discuss his book Writing Your Own Ending; end of life planning to help you and your loved ones put things to rest.

Please join us on June 10 at 4 PM for CHV member Doug Renfield-Miller’s presentation of his book, “Writing Your Own Ending; end-of-life planning to help you and your loved ones put things to rest”.

In 2015, following a long career in finance, Doug Renfield-Miller spent a year as an Advanced Leadership Fellow at Harvard. The outcome of his fellowship year was GoodEnding, a nonprofit seeking to improve end of life outcomes and reduce societal costs. As an extension of his GoodEnding work, Doug will discuss Writing Your Own Ending. With co-author Sonya Dolan, Doug has created what noted hospice and palliative care physician B.J. Miller describes as “…a workbook for everyone, loaded with practical tips and stepwise guidance to help you prepare for the end.” One CHV board member who has reviewed the book said, “it is more complete than other things of this sort that I have seen.”

Doug is donating all his royalties from the book to Regional Hospice in Danbury where he volunteers and serves on the board.

Doug’s presentation will focus on four topics:

  • Contemplating and preparing for your eventual demise.
  • Considering and shaping how you will be remembered and celebrated.
  • Making things easier for survivors.
  • Leaving with no regrets.

The workbook is part of Levenger’s Master Class series which has the tagline: “Ink helps us think.” You can purchase it here

The presentation will be at the apartment of Steve Reynolds and Susan Wolf and as a result space is limited.  The group will be limited to 28 people.  If you would like to attend, please click on the green REGISTER button below.
