Ten CHV members visited one of New York’s cultural jewels, the New York Historical Society, with Marcie Reiben, curator of the current exhibition Black Citizenship in the Age of Jim Crow

For those who haven't been, the show explores the struggle for citizenship and racial equality that unfolded in the 50 years after the Civil War, eventually leading to establishment of the Fourteenth and Fifteenth Constitutional Amendments. For further information, please visit the Society website at https://www.nyhistory.org/exhibitions/black-citizenship-age-jim-crow

It was an engaging, informative tour and received universally positive comments from those that attended. Many thanks to Marcie for sharing this compelling exhibition with us.
