Tour of “The Whitney’s Collection: Selections from 1900 to 1965”
CHV board member Roberta Krakoff and CHV member Gail Casale, her friend and fellow docent, lead another special event at the Whitney Museum. This tour focused on a current exhibition drawn entirely from the museum’s permanent collection, and inspired by the history of the museum, originally founded by Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney in 1930.
The tour included works by many favorite artists such as Hopper and O’Keeffe along with works by dozens of other artists that have played a role in the museum’s formation, such as Alexander Calder, Thomas Hart Benton and Margaret Bourke-White.
