Docent Mary-Jo Amatruda led an interesting tour of the American Period Rooms in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  She explained the history of American domestic interiors using architectural elements, furnishings, silver, glass and other decorative and utilitarian objects to tell stories of American life, from the seventeenth through the early twentieth century.
