Long Live the Weeds

Long live the weeds that overwhelm
My narrow vegetable realm!--
The bitter rock, the barren soil
That force the son of man to toil;
All things unholy, marked by curse,
The ugly of the universe.
The rough, the wicked and the wild

Gossip

The leaves, like women, interchange
Sagacious confidence;
Somewhat of nods, and somewhat of
Portentous inference,

Hat

The gods intended you for me: I had searched
store after store, nothing fit, in a whole world

Spring Rain

Where we stood while the storm swept by,
Thunder gripping the earth

Beauty in Nature

There's a poem in every flower,
a sonnet in every tree,
a tale in every lifetime
it's just for you to see…

there's a lyric in every brook
as it rushes over rocks,
there's an ode in every nuance,
as love's wonder unlocks,

To Daffodils

Fair Daffodils, we weep to see
You Haste away so soon:
And yet the early-rising sun
Has not attain’d his noon.
Stay, stay,
Until the hasting day
Has run
But to the ever-song.

Tit-Willow

On a tree by a river a little tom-tit

Sang "Willow, tit willow, tit willow"

And I said to him, "Dicky-bird, why do you sit

Singing 'Willow, tit willow, tit willow'"

"Is it weakness of intellect, birdie?" I cried
